Looking for publications by or about René Magritte? Interested in Surrealism in Belgium and abroad? Then browse the online catalogue and card catalogue of the RMFAB library.
In the library you will find the collection catalogues of the Musée Magritte Museum in Brussels and the René Magritte Museum in Jette (his former home) as well as the Magritte catalogue raisonné in 6 volumes by David Sylvester and Sarah Whitfield.
In addition to books on his painting and sculpture, there is literature on Magritte’s contribution to film, photography, advertising, etc. Through the subject index of the online catalogue, you can also search for published correspondence by Magritte or publications about his friends, relations and circle of acquaintances.
The library of the RMFAB also has a rich collection of catalogues of exhibitions in which Magritte participated. You can consult some important periodicals from this period such as 7 Arts, Le Centaure, Distances, Documents 34, La Révolution Surréaliste, Minotaure, Le Surréalisme au service de la Révolution, etc. Our subscription to the database Artprice offers on-site access to works by Magritte and his contemporaries that are circulating on the art market.
